Greetings in the name of the Lord. I thank God for all who have had a part in helping us move forward in our ongoing work and vision.

Missions at COH 

Hosting mission teams at COH is a great joy, especially when I see visitors catch the vision of COH and begin to stretch their faith. Knowing that COH has been used by God to strengthen people in their own lives and to challenge them to do more to help others is amazing.   I returned from City of Hope last month with gratitude for the long and short-term volunteers who each bring a unique blessing, and for the ongoing miracle that is unfolding as we move forward with the secondary school. Some of my joy is seeing guests catch the vision and get more involved, like Jill Hawley. Jill served last spring as a member of the team of  Duke nursing students. She loved it so much that she is now back to serve for a year. Though she is a nurse, Jill is willing to do whatever is needed from teaching health to technology to painting signs to supervising hand-washing. Also, Bob and Karen Barnes came short term in 2014 and are now serving long term. They have been a blessing in in the guest house, with our children, and at various churches in the community. Another example is Jacob Moyer. Jacob has come three times to COH and is now involved with our ministry on many levels, including serving on the development committee. This past April, Jacob brought his family and friends with him. Their mission was building tables and cabinets for our chemistry lab (see below). They completed the job beautifully but that was not the end. Last Sunday, I traveled with twelve of our girls from Mountain Mission School to join this team at Hickory UMC in Chesapeake, VA (their church). What a blessing it was as our MMS girls sang and we heard the team share their experiences from serving at COH. The team then committed with their church to raising the funding for our water project. We are believing together that our water needs will be met in the next several months.

How Great Is Our God

As COH continues to grow, I’m convinced, as Jacob shared last Sunday, that God wants us to believe for big things as what is big to us is actually so small to God! God wants us to ask for things that are beyond our ability, that may seem impossible but will force us to rely on Him and trust in His strength and power to see it to completion. That is what the water project is to this team and that is what other projects can be as we declare that each part will be done. Step by step, we are moving forward as various people take their part. As this team has taken on the water project, I'm asking for others to take on the teacher housing project so that by the end of the year, our secondary teachers will have adequate accommodations. I'll close my letter with Dr. Chacha's life verse:  Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.  Amen.  Ephesians 3:20-2
