Transitioning Young Men Back into their Communities, and Beyond
Our City of Hope Boys’ Town Program is an initiative dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing transition home for young men who were rescued from difficult circumstances at a young age (as early as 4-6 years old) and have grown up at the City of Hope. This new campus, located near the City of Hope, will help these young men prepare for life as they successfully transition back into their communities as responsible, godly individuals.
These young men have undergone comprehensive programs that have equipped them with essential life skills, spiritual guidance, and educational opportunities. Through our dedication and quality programs – teaching them about Jesus, providing quality healthcare, loving them, and inspiring their academic pursuits – we have invested in breaking the cycle of poverty that has long affected their lives. This final step in our program supports their development into exemplary leaders, church members, and ultimately, fathers and husbands.
The impact of this program extends beyond these individual boys; potentially transforming entire communities. And also opens up additional room in our residential program for 30 new vulnerable young boys we’ve rescued from desperate situations.
By training these young men to embody the values of hard work, integrity, and faith, we are fostering their success and empowering them to instill these principles in their future families and beyond. These young men will become role models in their neighborhoods, demonstrating the importance of godly living and leadership. By representing the Lord Jesus Christ in their daily lives, they will pave the way for future generations, creating a ripple effect that can significantly contribute to breaking the cycle of poverty and nurturing a new wave of Christian leaders in their communities. Ensuring they finish well is an investment in their futures and the future of entire communities.
“I am deeply grateful for your belief in me…”
(Excerpts of an actual letter from a university student to his HopeCo sponsor.)
Dear Joseph*,
I hope this letter finds you well. I wanted to let you know that I am a second-year student at Moshi Cooperative University (MOCU) pursuing a degree in accounting and finance.
I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support and sponsorship. Your contribution has been a cornerstone of my academic journey. I have been doing exceptionally well in school. These accomplishments would not have been possible without your unwavering support.
Your sponsorship not only provided financial assistance but also motivated me to strive for excellence. Knowing that someone believes in my potential has been a tremendous source of encouragement. I am excited about the future and the possibilities that lie ahead. I am determined to use the knowledge and skills I am acquiring to make a positive impact in my field and contribute to our community.
Once again, thank you. I am deeply grateful for your belief in me and my potential. May God bless you abundantly.
Warm regards,
Samuel*
