We are deeply grateful for Hudson and Hilda, our capable and passionate leaders whom God has called to serve children in East Africa. Hudson is our Africa Regional Director, and his leadership over the past decade has been transformational for our programs, staff, and the children we serve. Hudson’s wife, Hilda, is our Kenya Program Director. Hilda oversees the House of Faraja safe house in Kenya and provides leadership in the area of trauma-informed care and counseling.

In 2023, Hilda was diagnosed with cancer. Following surgery and treatments, she was doing well. Recently, Hilda was hospitalized and spent over a week in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Although she has been moved out of ICU, she is still facing significant health challenges, including severe headaches, high blood pressure, and convulsions. The medical team is working diligently to improve her condition, but she has not yet fully recovered. These issues are believed to be the aftereffects of her cancer and subsequent treatments.
As you can imagine, the financial burden of hospital stays can be overwhelming. It appears that the expenses for Hilda’s care could reach at least $12,500, if not more. We are reaching out to ask for your support in helping cover these costs so that this burden does not fall solely on Hudson and Hilda
We have a God who performs miracles, and this is what is needed. Pray for complete healing and restoration for Hilda and for God’s comfort, strength, and peace for her, Hudson, and their family. Pray that the Lord would be glorified through this situation. We know that He is good and that He is in control!
