"See you soon City of Hope, we love you!"
Thank you Community Church, for serving CHILDREN in Tanzania!
A team of 16 wonderful people from Community Church, one of HopeCo’s church partners, recently returned from their mission trip to City of Hope. The team was a mix of first-time team members and others who served in Tanzania last year. It was beautiful to see new relationships formed and old connections strengthened!
This mission team served in various ways - painting murals on classroom walls, building desks and wardrobes, and running a Bible camp for the students at City of Hope. Every song, craft, and sport activity shared the importance of putting on the full armor of God (based on Ephesians 6:10-18). The kids even got to build their own armor (see the picture below)!
The team also got to celebrate the arrival of our new school bus, too!
We are so grateful for each team member and the many ways that they invested in the children and staff at City of Hope. It is a great encouragement to watch as team members, along with the kids, grow in their faith, love, and joy - together!
Since arriving back in the US, team members are signing up as Child Sponsors, writing letters to kids and staff members they connected with, and partnering with HopeCo to support different programs in East Africa. We are deeply grateful to have Community Church as a partner in this transformational work, and we are excited to see how these team members continue to engage and share our vision to see lives transformed and communities flourishing!
