RESCUE AND CARE FOR At-Risk CHILDREN
City of Hope is home to 86 vulnerable children rescued from painful situations. Thanks to loving caregivers, these children can heal, grow, and dream of healthy futures. In 2022, we also opened a new safe house in Kenya.
Protecting children from abuse
Protecting at-risk children from early marriage, female genital mutilation, exploitation, and abuse is at the heart of our work. We provide protection, care to victims, and create lasting change by speaking out for the vulnerable in our communities.
EMPOWERING Families
In the past three years, 30 young women in Tanzania and Kenya received skills training empowering them to earn an income and provide for their families. Hundreds more women receive health education and practical guidance to help them care for their young children.
Overcoming poverty through education
Each year, 450 children learn in our primary and secondary schools, which rank in the top three percent across Tanzania. We now have students in university programs studying for careers in education, the medical field, and business.

Caring for young moms and their babies is our focus in the community. Last year, 208 healthy babies were delivered, hundreds of women received support to care for their children, and we served 5,307 people with health advice, medicines, and vaccinations.
Spiritual nurture and growth
This is the heart of all we do! We’ve witnessed hundreds of children and adults respond joyfully to Jesus as they learn together in daily devotions, church services, and through the witness of our staff. God’s love is at work - every day!
