We have exciting news: our mission teams program has been accredited by MissionExcellence, an organization that promotes best practices and evaluates ministries on how they meet seven standards of excellence for mission teams!

At HopeCo, we are committed to excellence in all we do - including how we prepare, host, and follow up the mission teams we send to East Africa. That commitment is why we participated in this rigorous accreditation process which included a three-day Peer Review with four other organizations. This was a special and valuable time of learning and collaboration!

MissionExcellence has accredited HopeCo for how we meet the following seven standards of excellence:

Empowering Partnerships
Mutual Design
Comprehensive Administration
Qualified Leadership
Appropriate Training
Thorough Follow-Through

Congratulations to HopeCo, the most recently accredited member of MissionExcellence! Standards of Excellence is a code of best practices for those engaged in sending out short-term mission teams. HopeCo has aligned their ministry to these standards with a desire to make their mission trips better. They recently conducted an in-depth self-study of their ministry and compiled evidence that demonstrated how they are meeting the standards. They then invited a team of mission practitioners to review their ministry and the degree to which their practices are consistent with the seven standards. As a facilitator of that team, I found that in addition to meeting the standards, HopeCo has a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in all areas. They are a Christ-centered organization that puts high value on deep relationships and partnership, and they have a culture of collaboration. It was a privilege to work with them as they seek to see transformed lives and flourishing communities in Tanzania, Kenya, and across East Africa!
